Zedd, the German Electro House producer taking over an entire genre right now, is set to release his new album on October 2nd on iTunes, with all other major outlets releasing the album on October 9th. This is a huge step for the L.A. based producer, who has multiple releases on labels such as OWSLA, Interscope, and Subliminal. Explect to be included on the album tracks such as “Slam The Door,” “Shotgun,” and the massive end of summer smash hit “Spectrum.” The teaser does just that, teases of a song that may be the introductory track to Clarity, but expect the album to be packed with non-stop Zedd bangers. Be on the look out for Clarity in the next couple of weeks.

I think it is safe to say, if I ever feel like playing “Save The World” in a DJ set, I could literally keep my audience guessing. Hell, I could shout out two of the mixes to play next, and still keep the crowd wondering if I was going to yank their leg. Well, here’s two more remixes to add to the already packed package. First, the Zedd remix, which came out yesterday, features a fierce Electro bass line along with a few Hoover synths to bring the nostalgia of, dare I say, “Warp 1.9.” Next up, we have the AN21 and Max Vangeli remix, which was first spotted by the Beatmyday.com boys during Sebjak’s set at Summerburst. Skip to about 1:32 where the lead drops and you are smacked in the face by a very fat bass line. Both remixes do the track absolute justice, so check them out, and grab the Zedd remix at Beatport here and the AN21 & Max Vangeli remix here.
AN21 & Max Vangeli Remix…
As part of a new series, Skrillex has created the “Free Treats” track giveaway where he will give away a few tracks from himself as well as respected artists in the industry, perhaps, as a way to gain a few more “likes” on Facebook. I’m not complaining because the tracks on the first giveaway are from Skrillex, 12th Planet, Flinch, as well as Zeds Dead take on House and Electro House. The first track, with 12th Planet, is a Skrillex classic, filled with loud screeches, intense wobbles, and Demonic noises. Next up, Flinch brings down the house with a bombastic track called “World On Fire” which actually resembles Skrillex’s vocal sampling techniques quite a bit. Finally, Zedd getting a bit Electro with his giveaway titled “Changes.” Very clubby, very punchy, and quite simplistic, yet entertaining and interesting. Make sure to grab all the tracks below and watch Skrillex for more Free Treats.
German Electro House maestro Zedd returns with another original called “Dovregubben” which translates into “Mountain King” in Norwegian. Very appropriate title considering Zedd samples a “In the Hall of the Mountain King,” a Norwegian classical piece of music. Zedd’s last original track was “The Legend of Zelda” which, of course, samples the theme song from the wildly popular Nintendo series “The Legend of Zelda.” I can’t help but think as great as these tracks are, Zedd must find a little bit of humor in creating a huge Electro House lead around an obscure sample. Take a listen to a classical-mordern mash up and grab it at Beatport when you’re ready.
Zedd – Dovregubben
I don’t know what it is, but ever since Diddy staged this epic comeback, he’s been getting airplay from almost every major radio station, plus the amount of remixes from dance producers has been astronomical. Add Zedd onto that list which includes Dirty South and Chuckie to name the big guys. Love Zedd’s approach to Electro House, and also, his recent infatuation with tribal style drums. His last original track “Autonomy” had very tribal-esque drums, and this remix sports a similar drum riff to “Pon de Floor.” Maybe the future is tribal infused Electro House? Let me know what ya think of that one and make sure to grab this soon from Interscope Records.
Diddy-Dirty Money – Ass On The Floor (Zedd Remix)
Check out the latest Zedd original set to be released very soon. Like I said, I absolutely love Zedd’s approach to electro. What do you think?
