An Introduction to Trap Pt. 2: Deep Cuts
I hope everyone enjoyed the first edition of “An Introduction to Trap,” as much as I did writing it. Moving forward, its time to get into some deeper tracks from some up and coming Trap artists. First up, from the Chicago area native, where Trap music seems to be finding a hot spot, is Luminox. Among many of his originals, I found this track to be his most stand out. Remixing Sandro Silva and Quintino’s “Epic,” Luminox adds some much needed Dirty South percussion to slow the track down, even if the original melody feels the same speed. Also included in this weeks tracks is “Kill Em” by Trap duo Clicks & Whistles. Overall, this track breathes fire as a sexy sounding spanish woman repeats the phrase “matalos.” Also worth a mention in this post is the collaboration from newcomers to the Trap scene, ETC!ETC! and Brillz. “Swoop” is an incredibly strange and dirty Trap track with excellent synth work and percussion. Make sure to grab all of these tracks and check out all these artists Soundcloud pages as they have many goodies for download. Until next week, enjoy the movement which is Trap.
