BeatauCue – Wolves (JFK of MSTRKRFT Edit)
Found this nugget about an hour ago while I was supposed to be studying (everybody takes breaks people, let’s be real). JFK, otherwise known as Jesse F. Keller, of Death From Above 1979 fame and more notably MSTRKRFT, is infamous for his exclusive set edits of, literally, every song he plays in a set. I kid you not folks, even at Ultra I found myself second guessing multiple times on tracks I recognized, but still could not place the exact name. Anyways, JFK rarely releases these edits, and when he does, they are such a treat for DJ’s, producers, and regular party people. This time, JFK releases, via BeatauCue’s soundcloud, his edit of BeatauCue’s “Wolves.” The original track is fantastic, but JFK chops, reconstructs, and adds some crucial elements to create a quick, concise three and a half-minute beauty only to be truly appreciated within a trademark MSTRKRFT set. Download, enjoy, and keep studying!
Via Kitsuné, we have a brand new FREE remix of BeatauCue’s newest original, “Behold,” by Montreal duo Botnek. These lads do a great job of transitioning from a dramatic breakdown into a funky, glitchy, and wonderfully chaotic lead. Keep going people, I know you can do it, you just need a little help from Botnek. Study on!
